Moscow: Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was detained and investigated on corruption charges.
According to a foreign news agency, Russia’s anti-corruption authorities arrested Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov on suspicion of accepting bribes.
According to the Special Committee of Law Enforcement Agencies, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Timur Vadimovich Ivanov, was detained on suspicion of committing a crime under Section 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code.
The Russian deputy defense minister is under EU sanctions as the top defense ministry official in charge of building military installations.

Timur Ivanov was the subject of an investigation published in 2022 by the anti-corruption foundation of late opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
The published opposition report said the deputy defense minister oversaw and took advantage of construction projects in Mariupol, Ukraine, which fell under Moscow’s control after a month-long siege.
