The launching ceremony of the first Hungar class submarine to be developed in China for Pakistan was held at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. Shuangliu Base in China.

Government of Pakistan signed an agreement for acquisition of 8 Hangur class submarines during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan.
Under the contract, 4 submarines will be built in China while the other 4 will be built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited in Pakistan.
These submarines will be equipped with sophisticated weapons and sensors that will be able to target long-range targets.
